KS4 & KS5 Exam Results 2020

Although it was another successful year for St. Joseph's and our students, the government has confirmed there will be no national performance tables published this year, due to exams being cancelled in 2020.

All those working with schools and colleges, such as Ofsted, Department for Education and local authorities, will use data from previous years, so we will continue to present 2019 data on this page. This will also be reflected in our Department for Education performance information found on the DfE website. Please click HERE for all relevant information pertaining to the 2019 data.

2020 Phenomenal set of results at St Joseph’s Catholic High School!

  • 53% of students gaining 5 GCSEs 9-5+ Inc. English and Maths
  • 76% of students gaining 5 GCSEs 9-4+Inc. English and Maths
  • 83% of students took the EBacc.  49% of the cohort gained the EBacc

Ciran Stapleton, Head Teacher, said:

“The Centre Assessed Grades we submitted was the process of a rigorous process undertaken by all the staff which also took into account the students second set of mock results completed only 2 months before the Summer exams; unseen full past papers, marked to the exam specification criteria and standardised- so we’re sure they are a true reflection of what they would have gone on to achieve. This was perhaps one of the highest performing cohorts the school has ever seen and the only pity was that they didn’t have the chance to show that in the summer exams. This was a cohort with a talent and commitment representative of everyone in our community”.

“They have overcome adversity and challenge with a resilience and innovation that sets them apart, their future is very bright indeed.”

Among the smiling faces were:
