In October 2017, the first student chaplaincy at St. Joseph’s was formed! Four students in year 12 enrolled themselves in the Diocesan young leadership course ‘Salt and Light’ and wanted to invest their growing skills and confidence in the spirituality of the school.
Nana Yaa, Bethany, Francesca and Katie have worked hard ever since, leading liturgy, helping with assemblies, leading break time prayer in the Chapel and most recently being involved in a mentoring project for students in lower school.
We now have an extended group of students who have joined as ‘Chaplaincy Ambassadors’ who are focusing on the mentoring project and helping our (particularly younger) students with many aspects of school life. In the coming months the Chaplaincy Team are looking to expand by inviting other students to become more involved in Chaplaincy events. We are bound to grow – so watch this space!
