Liturgical Calendar

When it comes to times and seasons, the church has its own calendar which reflects the liturgical year. It is called liturgical because it is best expressed in the liturgy, or public worship of the church, and it begins with the first Sunday of Advent.

The different seasons reflect on the great mysteries of salvation, beginning with the Incarnation of Christ (Advent-and Christmas), His Passion and Resurrection (Lent and Easter), and the so-called Ordinary time, when we are called to live extraordinarily well ordinary things.
