St Joseph’s Sixth Form Eclipse Previous Records to Mark the End to an Impressive Year
Students at St Joseph’s Sixth Form, part of St Thomas Catholic Academies Trust, have once again smashed records with the highest ever A Level results in the school’s history.
An incredible 25% of all A Level exams sat achieved A*-A grades, with an equally impressive 48% receiving A*-B grades.
Success wasn’t limited to A Levels alone, with an amazing 72.7% of BTEC students achieving Distinction*-Merit grades, and 48% of Extended Project Qualification grades coming in at A*-A.
Kelly Riddles, Head Teacher, said: “We couldn’t be happier to celebrate these thoroughly well-deserved results with them today. To achieve the highest A*-A grades in our school’s history is a wonderful accomplishment and testament to what our young people can achieve when they believe in themselves and are supported to fulfil their potential.
“I am incredibly proud of this cohort of students. These results have not happened by accident. Our students have worked tirelessly alongside their teachers, showing extraordinary determination, resilience and ambition.
“As a proudly non-selective school, we believe passionately that excellence should be open to every young person. Today is a wonderful example of our mission of ‘Unlocking Belief in All’ becoming a reality.”

Among the beaming faces today were Cameron Fyfe, whose triple A*s have seen him secure a place to read Chemistry at Oxford and Nicola Szuba whose four A*s grades mean she will be reading Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at Cambridge come September – the school’s first ever Oxbridge scholars!
The results also come at the end of a year where the school has been praised by Ofsted and seen students engage in a raft in of trips, experiences and opportunities.
Ms Riddles added: “Results days are about so much more than statistics. They are the culmination of every that a school offers to inspire the minds of our young people. Behind every grade is a young person, a family and a team of staff who have supported them along the way. Today, above everything else, we celebrate our students and the exciting futures that now lie ahead of them.”
